Currimundi Child Care Sunshine Coast – Age Group Rooms
TEDDIES – 6 WEEKS TO 15 MONTHS
The Teddies teachers understand starting day care can be very overwhelming. Because of this, they strive at all times to keep babies routines as close to home as possible. Cuddle time is in abundance in the Currimundi childcare Teddies Room, along with playing, painting and story time. A separate outdoor playing area is also available to Teddies room kids.
Each baby naps in their own separate cot in a climate controlled room.
BUNNIES – 15 MONTHS TO 2 YEARS
The toddler years are an important time for the development of gross and fine motor skills.
This growth is encouraged through indoor and outdoor Currimundi childcare activities that build numeracy, literacy and artistic skills. Our philosophy is that learning should be fun, and we sing, dance and play games to help cultivate a love of learning.
Bunnies also participate in our child care Sunshine Coast FitKids program. They share their fun-filled outdoor playground with the Joeys.
JOEYS – 15 MONTHS TO 2 YEARS
Like the Bunnies, Joeys spend a lot of this time developing gross and fine motor skills.
Growth is fostered through painting, story-time, building forts and outdoor play. All of these activities help them to learn and grow in a fun and safe early learning environment.
The Joeys and Bunnies share an adventure filled outdoor Currimundi daycare playground.
KOALAS – 2 YEARS TO 3 YEARS
Social growth, self-help skills and the further development of fine motor skills are at the top of the program for growing Koalas.
Group play time, painting and crafts are very popular amongst the 2 and 3 year olds.
Child care visits from Sunshine Coast based guests like the local ambulance and “Old McDonalds Farm” keep these cuties entertained and help to increase their social awareness. Counting, language and memory skills are advanced through song, dance and games.
Koalas and Possums share an outdoor playground equipped for fun and adventure!
POSSUMS – PRE-KINDY – 3 YEARS TO 4 YEARS
In the Possum room, Educators concentrate on the development of independence, co-ordination, skeletal and muscular growth and of course, primary school preparation.
The child care Sunshine Coast FitKids program the Possums participate in involves activities designed to improve balance and co-ordination. These include running, jumping, ball games and play time in our large front yard.
Dress-ups, crafts, threading, weaving and playing musical instruments all help to promote and build fine motor skills and increase brain activity. Letter recognition, counting and reading are all practised in the Possums room through fun games and activities.
The Possums share an exciting outdoor Currimundi childcare playground with the Koalas.
KINDY – APPROVED KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM – 4 YEARS TO 5 YEARS
The Currimundi Campus Early Learning Centre’s government approved kindergarten is dedicated to giving children the best possible start to their school education. Kindergarten is not compulsory, however to qualify for the program and gain the maximum benefits, kids will need to attend for a minimum of 2 days.
Letterland is a great program devised to introduce children to phonetics, letter identification and word association. It is readily used through the Sunshine Coast kindergarten learning program. Letterland assists children to learn to read more quickly and also rapidly builds their vocabulary.
Access to the nearby park allows kindy kids much more freedom to run, play and develop. The Currimundi kindergarten also has an indoor sandpit and air conditioning to keep young ones comfortable year round. The kindy kids even get their own special t-shirts. Providing a partial uniform helps them with the transition into primary school and inspires a more team like atmosphere.
WOMBATS – CURRIMUNDI OUTSIDE SCHOOL HOURS CARE: BEFORE SCHOOL, AFTER SCHOOL, PUPIL FREE-DAYS & VACATION CARE
FOR SCHOOL AGED KIDS AND UP
Each afternoon, Talara Primary College students are met and walked back to Currimundi Campus Early Learning Centre, while Meridan State College students are picked up and transported by bus.
At the campus, children can either complete homework or participate in fun activities such as arts and crafts, music and dance or game time in the adjoining park. Like all the daycare kids, the Wombats each receive a healthy snack for afternoon tea.
During school holidays, the Sunshine Coast kids holiday program (which caters for children of all ages), includes trips to the local cinema, the beach and ten pin bowling centres.
